If you haven’t been to the Indigo Kids section at Chapters-Indigo in Chinook Mall lately, you should have a look; they’ve stepped up their game. Not only do they have a fantastic selection of books, but they have a good size toy section, many gifts appropriate for baby showers and toddlers, and an American Girl Boutique – complete with hair salon.

With the Holidays upon us, here is a list of our favorite toys, including some from Indigo’s own list of Top 10 Toys

Advent Calendars | Avoid giving your child extra sugar each day and gift them a toy to fuel their imagination instead. Playmobil and Lego each have 3 different Advent Calendars for you to choose from

Crossover Ski Scooter Jr.(Indigo Exclusive) | A scooter for ages 2 and up, it uses skis when there’s snow, and wheels when there’s none. No need to find somewhere to store it in between seasons! A version for older children is also available.

Selfie Mic | An adjustable selfie stick with working microphone; it comes with an earpiece and free app to let your little star make their own music video!

FurReal Friends Torch, My Blazin’ Dragon | Give your child their own pet baby dragon. Torch responds to touch with over 50 sound and motion combinations. Feed him a changing colour treat and press his charm to watch him breath flame coloured mist.

American Girl Dolls and Accessories | With different skin tones and hair colours, along with several different occupations and hobbies, you can find the American Girl Doll that is just right for your child. Chapters-Indigo is the only authorized Canadian Retailer for American Girl; be sure to check out the American Girl Boutique in the Chinook location to have her hair done!

Plasmacar | Put your feet on the platform, hands on the steering wheel, wiggle left and right, and you’re off! This is a ride on toy that even adults love to try. No batteries required!

Winter Toys | Encourage your child to get outside and play in the snow! With toys like Sno-Stompers to make monster footprints, Sno-Makers to draw in the snow, and the Sno-Fling ItSno-Shot, and Sno-Striker for snowball fights, there are lots of ways to play outdoors.

Harry Potter | With the upcoming release of the Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them screenplay, along with the illustrated versions of the first and second books in the series, Harry Potter Mania is still going strong. A Marauders Map, a cooperative deck-building game, and colouring books are amongst some of the great gifts available.

Lego | Always a classic toy. Lego City, Creator, and Friends are just some of the themes you have to choose from. Add an element of storytelling with Build Your Own Adventure books.

Books | Don’t forget books! Whether it’s a Christmas themed book to celebrate the season, (check out the Canadian Christmas Carol books by Helaine Becker), a Graphic Novel, (take a look at the adorable Narwhal: Unicorn of the Sea), or the latest in a favorite series (try Geromino Stilton – The Wizard’s Wand), books are always a great gift to spark a child’s imagination.

What’s at the top of your kids list for toys this Christmas season?
