Canada Day Downtown Celebration | Festivities will include Canadian Armed Forces activities, the always popular Living Flag, an Aboriginal showcase with a traditional Powwow on Prince’s Island, a fantastic line-up of Canadian musicians on the Riverfront Avenue stage and an outstanding fireworks display off the Centre Street bridge.
East Village Street Fair | Throughout the day there will be performances from local musician and performing artists. As this is a family friendly event, we have a featured children’s area that will serve to be an interactive area for all patrons.
Canada Day Outdoor Carnival | A free, fun-filled afternoon for families with great activities for adults and kids including huge inflatable bouncers, face painting, a petting zoo, carnival games, Story Land with your favourite characters, toddler play area and more!
Calgary Canada Day Fireworks | The Fireworks set against the skyline backdrop, with great viewing points throughout the city, is one of the best ways to finish the day’s celebrations with the kids. Fireworks will go live at 11 pm, so get a good spot before they do!

July 1, known as Dominion Day before 1982, commemorates the formation of Canada in 1867. Experience Francophone heritage and culture with maple sweets, food and music in a festive atmosphere. The Riverfront Stage is located at the Harry Hays Building, on the North lawn, facing the Bow River.
Olympic Plaza Celebrations | Close to the Fort Calgary, East Village and Stephen Avenue celebrations, make sure to plan a stop here on Canada Day! Enjoy this historic downtown park by touring a market, making crafts, learning some history or visiting a popular food truck all while taking in busker and stage performances.
Canada Day at Fort Calgary | Celebrate Canada Day in the birthplace of Calgary, and many other Canadian things in our area—the North West Mounted Police, Indigenous and intercultural relations, and strong community values. We have family fun all day, including: a free pancake breakfast; live music and entertainment; children’s crafts and petting zoo; food trucks; a chance to dress-up like a Mountie; and Indigenous arts and cultural sharing.
