Is there anything better than flying a kite on a windy summer day? Head out to the Kite Festival on July 16th, and you can experience family fun, including making your own kite and a fun day-long festival filling the sky with kites.
What to do while you’re there: kite making workshops (all day long), henna tattoos, live music, food trucks and face painting. Materials will be provided for children to build their own kite for free, that they can take home at the end of the festival, but some activities are charged (like food trucks, henna tattoos and face painting).
Bring lunch and spend the afternoon flying kites, and sitting on a picnic blanket and watching the sky filled with kites.
The Kite Festival will take place at Shaw Millennium Park, between 2-8 on Saturday July 16th. Visit www.calgarykites.com.
