Are you wondering what to do this month with the kids in Calgary? It’s the perfect weather to get outside more – enjoying the parks and playgrounds in your area, exploring around the city and trying something new.

  1. Aggie Days. Milk a cow, shear a sheep and take part in a fun maze. Tons of fun activities for the kids through the event on April 9 and 10th.
  2. Free admission to the Glenbow the first Thursday night of the month. It’s the perfect time to see what’s new – for free.
  3. Visit Dinosaurs Alive at Calgary Zoo
  4. See a $2.99 movie on Saturday morning as part of the Cineplex Family Favourites program. There’s a new movie every weekend, on the cheap.
  5. Take a free Intellidance class with Intellidance Calgary. Free trial classes are available for infants, toddlers and even a family session.
  6.  Stop by the Home Depot for their monthly workshop. This month, children can build a butterfly house. You can register for the class by visiting your local store and getting on the list.
  7. See ‘Annie’ at the Jubilee
  8. Get outside and test your sense of adventure at Telus Spark Brainasium Playground
  9. Explore the properties of glass at Telus Spark, daily at 10:30
  10. Check out the free AmazeArts, Arts and crafts event
  11. Snuggle some felines at the Calgary Cat Show
  12. Drop in and play on the Jungle gym at Village Square Leisure Centre
  13. Take a ‘Cook with your Kids‘ class at Calgary Farmer’s Market

  15. Drop in for a visit to Butterfield Acres, it opens for family weekend fun during the first weekend in April.

  18. Spend a Thursday morning at Monkeyshine’s, where storytime happens at 10:30. Just show up, get comfy and listen to a story. While you’re there, you can browse the books.
  19. Drop by your local Ivivva store on Sunday mornings for the chance to warm up before the store opens with a free dance or movement class.
  20. Join the Pottery Barn Kids book club and stop by the store every week on Tuesdays at 11 am for Storytime. Books, activities and every time you visit five times, you get a special surprise.
