Halloween celebrations begin as early as the first week in October, so staying up to date with what’s going on in Calgary, for kids, can help you to plan and make the most of the holiday celebration.

Ghouls Night out At Heritage Park
Take a spooky stroll down our well decorated streets, and meet some of the ghoulish residents of the village as you pass their haunted houses. There’s witches flying school, entertainment, storytelling, crafts, halloween dance and much more.

Monster Mash up at Telus Spark
Enjoy frightfully fun activities for the entire family as you explore the spooky science behind Halloween. You might be shocked by what you learn! Plus, Monster Mash-Up is back on October 28 and 29 for the final weekend of SHOCKTOBER celebrations.

Halloweekends at Callaway Park
Join Billy, Roxy and the Boo Crew at Calaway Park this Fall! Take a stroll down Hallo-Street… if you dare! It is a spooktacular good time for the whole family! Dress up as your favorite family friendly character and enjoy tricks and treats and spooktacular rides!

Shocktober at Telus Spark
Brew up a colourful potion, pour it out and watch it slide down our Halloween sculpture in a fascinating pattern. Be amazed as the colours of your potion mix with others to create something awesome and beautiful. Watch out – brewing potions can be a messy adventure! Potion pouring, slime, pumpkin destruction and even costume repair are part of the fun drop in activities, all month long.

Halloween Haunting at Village Square
Come dressed in your favourite costume and join us for creepy crafts, ghostly games and fun ghouly activities. We are proud to partner with Aspen Hand in Hand Parent Link Centre and Village Square Library to provide recreational child and family-friendly event

Cooking Class: Scary Snacks for Halloween
This is your opportunity to enjoy a frightful amount of food fun with your youngster. Together, you’ll have a scary good time creating our two terrifying treats of the day, Sour Cream Spider Web-Decorated Nacho Dip and White Chocolate-Coated Strawberry Ghosts with Chocolate Chip Eyes. Be sure to book early, because this popular class fills up quickly.

Haunted Calgary: Halloween Hollywood Horror
Haunted Calgary is a walk-through haunted yard attraction in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The attraction is close to 10,000 square feet of outdoor entertainment and takes approximately 20-30 minutes to tour. Family-run and set up thanks to the tireless efforts of over 50 volunteers who give over 500 hours of their time, and over 60 actors who volunteer their time and talent, this event showcases incredible community spirit.

Visit your local Michaels store on Saturday mornings, for $2 halloween crafts. There is a new small craft, every week between 10-12, and parents can either help, or browse the store while the kids complete the craft.

Halloween Howl 2017
The Alberta Diabetes Foundation is proud to present the 2017 Halloween Howl. Taking place in Calgary’s Bow River Valley, this ‘spooktacular’ event features a 3 & 5 KM fun run/walk and a 10 KM chipped/timed run. With prizes for money raised and best individual and team costumes, this highly anticipated event is a Howl of a good time for family, friends, and colleagues! The Halloween Howl Fun Run and Walk, supports life-changing diabetes research through family fun and exercise. Last year, the Halloween Howl raised $110,000, and we believe that this year’s impact can be even greater.

They’re sure to have a blast preparing a fun-filled feast of frightening food, featuring Stuffed Jack-O-Lantern-Style Carved Stuffed Peppers; Bone-Shaped Breadsticks; Chocolate-Dipped Screaming Pretzels with scary Candy Eyeballs; Coffin-Shaped Pastry Hand Pies; and Hocus Pocus Fruit Punch. The Dash of Doom
Run Calgary invites you to be a part of Calgary’s only Halloween Night Race! This is a family-friendly and pet-friendly event taking place the Saturday before Halloween come rain or shine (or snow!) Registration to this event gets you a t-shirt, finisher’s medal and bib with chip time. There will also be a festival area with fun Halloween games and a photo booth to get free pictures of you and your loved ones dressed up.
